In an attempt to live a George Bernard Shaw quote she fell in love with in high school - “Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got a hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations” - Erin has always been a very busy person.
She has Bachelor of Science in Performance Studies from Northwestern University, where she studied acting, writing and adaptation. In addition, she spent a year in London studying Shakespeare through Marymount College and a summer at The Public Theater’s Shakespeare Lab in NYC. In 2000 Erin moved to New York and worked extensively on stage, but a decision to pursue a career in film and television brought her to Los Angeles at the end of 2001 – right after the requisite New York actor Guest Star on Law & Order earned her her SAG card.
Since living in LA, Erin has appeared in leading and supporting roles in feature films and in guest starring, recurring and regular roles on ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, NICK, ABC Family, Lifetime, DIRECTV, FX and Disney Channel series. She returned to the stage in 2012 in a leading role at the Pasadena Playhouse in a new play written by famed comedy writers, Robert Sternin and Prudence Fraiser, called Under My Skin.
Erin’s extensive training and background as an actor lead her to start coaching actors in 2006 both in a classroom setting and on-set. She is currently the Master Instructor and the Executive Director of the highly reputable Warner Loughlin Studios in Hollywood. In 2012, Erin was the on-set acting coach/producer for an improvisation-based film she developed with her Master Class called Speak Now (Premiere - Austin Film Festival Oct. 2013).
And if two careers wasn’t enough… Erin is also a writer and proud member WGA. She has worked as a writer for hire for Alcon Entertainment and, most recently, for Alloy Entertainment with TV writing partner, Richard Keith. She has developed original TV projects with Storyline Entertainment, Brillstein-Grey Entertainment and original feature films with Team Todd Productions, Little Engine Productions, and Underground Films. Her most recent original pilot, We’re Not Your Parents, co-written by Richard Keith, won the FOX comedy pilot competition at the NYTVF in October of 2013. Erin and Richard now have a development deal at FOX.
