Erin Cardillo was raised in Greenwich, CT and has Bachelor of Science in Performance Studies from Northwestern University, where she studied acting, writing and adaptation. In addition, she spent a year in London studying Shakespeare through Marymount College and a summer at The Public Theater’s Shakespeare Lab in NYC.
After college, Erin moved to New York and worked extensively on stage, but a decision to pursue a career in film and television brought her to Los Angeles – right after the requisite New York actor Guest Star on Law & Order earned her her SAG card. Since living in LA, Erin has appeared in leading and supporting roles in feature films and in guest starring, recurring and regular roles on ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, NICK, ABC Family, Lifetime, DIRECTV, FX and Disney Channel series. She returned to the stage in 2012 in a leading role at the Pasadena Playhouse in a new play written by comedy writers, Robert Sternin and Prudence Fraiser, called Under My Skin.
Erin’s background as an actor lead to creating characters and stories of her own. She was the writer/producer for an improvisation-based film she developed at Warner Loughlin Studios called Speak Now (Audience Award, Austin Film Festival, 2013 - now available on iTunes) and her most recent feature film, Isn’t It Romantic? was optioned by New Line. In addition, Erin has worked as a writer for hire at Alcon Entertainment and has developed original TV projects with Storyline Entertainment, Mandeville Entertainment, Brillstein-Grey Entertainment and original feature films with Team Todd Productions, Little Engine Productions, Broken Road Productions, and Underground Films.
In 2012, Cardillo partnered up with Richard Keith and the duo won the 2013 New York Television Festival and subsequently received a development deal at FOX. Shortly thereafter, they partnered with Alloy Entertainment to develop Significant Mother for CW Seed, which was happily picked up to series by the network and will be premiering on CW, August 3rd 2015 at 9:30pm. Tune in!!
